13-year-old child who didn't tell his family he fell from a motorcycle, died.

Navagamuwa Police state that a 13-year-old boy residing in Kadawatha, Korathota area, unfortunately died upon hospitalization after an accident where he fell from a bicycle, which he did not report at home. The deceased, who was the elder of twin brothers from the same family, died after being admitted to Oruwala District Hospital following this accident which occurred while he was cycling for fun.

The deceased child and his younger twin brother were accustomed to riding specialized bicycles with handlebars that could rotate all the way around during their leisure time. Although their mother constantly objected to this dangerous way of cycling, the two were secretly riding bicycles on Wekkawatta Road in Karathota on the evening of the 30th. The younger brother, who was following, saw the elder brother's bicycle suddenly slip and fall to the ground.

Initial investigations revealed that after the accident, the younger brother came, helped the fallen elder brother up, handed him the bicycle, and they went home. However, the child did not inform his parents about the accident and even refused dinner that night. The next morning, when the child complained of severe stomach pain, his parents admitted him to Oruwala District Hospital, but doctors confirmed that he had already passed away by then.

Police suspect that the death may have occurred due to internal injuries caused by the bicycle's handlebar forcefully striking the child's abdominal area.
