The Ministry of Labour emphasizes that the information circulating on social media, claiming that Dr. Anil Jayanta, who is both the Minister of Labour and the Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, has taken steps to ban pilgrimages to Dambadiva and Thailand, is completely false.

Issuing a statement, the Ministry points out that the relevant propaganda is entirely fabricated and that the Minister has never made such a statement at any time.

The Ministry points out that groups with narrow political agendas aimed at disrupting social, political, and religious harmony in Sri Lanka are circulating this false information.

The Ministry of Labour expresses its regret regarding such low-level false propaganda and further states that it strongly condemns these actions.
