The confession made by the boyfriend who murdered Naduni while in critical condition

A lot of horrific details have now been revealed behind the incident of a young woman's decomposed body being found in a rented house in the Gorakana, Galkanuwa area, which belongs to the Panadura North Police Division. The young woman who was murdered in this manner is named Naduni Sashri.

She had been living in that house in an unmarried relationship with a 27-year-old man. He, who worked as a kitchen assistant in a hotel in the Panadura area, was arrested by the police after fleeing the area following the incident.

The suspect told the police that on the night of the incident, he walked nearly four and a half kilometers from his workplace. When he arrived at the room, it was around 11:15 PM, and he was drinking tea made by Naduni and resting in a chair. At that moment, an argument about money broke out between the two. The young man states that when he said he had no money as it was mid-month, Naduni severely insulted him.

The suspect confessed that he became extremely angry due to Naduni's statements, such as "I will have ten people rape your sister" and insulting his mother. After that, he took a knife, stabbed her in the chest, and cut her neck, killing her. He states that after the murder, he also tried to commit suicide by cutting his own neck, but when that failed, he drank the vaporizer liquid found in the room. After he started vomiting, he changed his sarong, dressed in white long trousers and an orange striped shirt, and fled the house.

The suspect walked to Moratuwa railway station, where he attempted to commit suicide by jumping in front of a train traveling from Colombo to Kalutara. In doing so, he sustained serious injuries, including several broken bones in his body, such as his right leg and ribs. People nearby admitted him to Panadura Hospital, and due to his critical condition, he was later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital. The police, who searched for the suspect for two days, were able to arrest him based on information received from the National Hospital.

Currently, after reporting the facts to the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court, the Magistrate also visited the hospital and observed the suspect. Doctors have worked to remove the blood accumulated in the young man's abdomen, and he remains in critical condition with deep cuts on his neck and broken bones. Due to this condition, he also faces the risk of becoming disabled in the future.

Police investigations have further revealed that the murdered Naduni and her mother had been involved in a scam for a long time, deceiving young men and defrauding them of money. Upon learning of the incident, a resident of Vavuniya contacted the Panadura North Police OIC and stated that this mother and daughter together deceived him and defrauded him of 1.5 million rupees. It is also revealed that she was previously engaged to a pilot.

While living with the aforementioned young man, Naduni also maintained a close relationship with a young chef at the hotel. That young man states that the mother and daughter together defrauded 800,000 rupees from his bank account. In addition, he revealed that he lost a total of nearly 1 million rupees, including the 35,000 rupees given to her monthly.

Naduni's mother, acting as an extremely kind mother who cared for her daughter's safety, showed affection to the young man who gave them money as if he were her own child, and deceived him, so he never even went to meet Naduni without asking her mother. The police state that the strategy of trapping young men and extorting money was a planned operation carried out jointly by Naduni and her mother.

Finally, when all secrets are revealed, the inevitable destruction has already occurred. Naduni's sealed coffin, containing her body, who prematurely departed due to her mother's misguided influence, has been received by her mother. The suspect murderer is currently fighting between life and death, and although the chef who was caught in this trap has escaped everything, a special responsibility remains for him due to Naduni. That is the responsibility of caring for the family of dogs that Naduni owned.
