No-confidence motion by the opposition against the Minister of Justice

Based on the incident that occurred at the Negombo Prison, the opposition parliamentary group has today decided to present a no-confidence motion against Minister of Justice Harsha Nanayakkara, alleging that he has shirked his responsibility and accountability regarding the safety of both the inmates and prison officers there.

Accordingly, a group of opposition MPs, including Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, signed this no-confidence motion in Parliament today (10).
