Maldivian national molests beautician in Battaramulla

A fifty-one-year-old Maldivian national was recently arrested by the Talangama Police in connection with an incident of sexual assault on a twenty-eight-year-old beautician and therapist at a lodging (villa) located in the Pelawatta area, Battaramulla. It is reported that the suspect was taken into police custody on the 4th of last month.

According to police investigations, the arrested foreign suspect is a carpenter working in the Maldives. Police state that he had called the woman to the villa in the Pelawatta area where he was staying, with the intention of obtaining a massage service, and while she was performing the massage, the suspect forcibly raped her.

A special investigation has currently been launched by a team of officers from the Children and Women's Bureau of Talangama Police in connection with this crime.
