According to the latest data released by the National Dengue Control Unit, the total number of dengue deaths reported in the country so far this year has increased to 53.
The total number of dengue patients reported in the country during the past few months of this year is approaching the 75,000 mark. Accordingly, as of yesterday (17), the total number of patients identified in the country has increased to 74,478, with 19,100 of these patients being reported within the past 17 days of July, which is a significant situation.
Given the current situation, the Western Province continues to be the region with the highest number of dengue patients reported in the island. The total number of patients reported from the Gampaha district, which has identified the highest number of patients, has now increased to 15,596.
