A recent poll has revealed problematic situations regarding social integration and national identity in Britain. According to a report titled 'Britain Under Strain', more than 40% of British residents believe that Muslims cannot integrate into British society.

Dame Sara Khan, former Anti-Extremism Commissioner for the British government, points out that trust in national identity is eroding in the country. 55% of British residents believe that British identity is disappearing due to diversity, and 61% state that the 'social contract' governing the laws and institutions that control society has broken down.

In a poll conducted alongside this report, 31% expressed the opinion that non-white individuals are never as British as white individuals. Furthermore, 33% of British residents support a policy of remigration to their home countries, and this view rises to 71% among supporters of the Reform UK party.

However, a separate survey conducted on British Muslims yielded completely different results. According to it, 85% of British Muslims expressed a desire for social integration and stated that they have had the opportunity to live amicably with other religious groups and practice their religion freely. Nevertheless, 64% believe that white people act against them.

The report also highlights the serious issue of declining respect for social institutions. 28% of British residents believe that laws and institutions that hinder change should be disregarded. Furthermore, while the majority stated that political violence is absolutely unacceptable, it is noteworthy that 29% of young people aged 18 to 34 expressed that violence could be justified.
