The Gampaha High Court No. 2 has decided to postpone until July 7th the case filed against a person who revealed facts by conducting an interview on a YouTube channel, based on a newspaper advertisement that stated the current pinnacle of the Ruwanweli Maha Seya in Anuradhapura had been removed and replaced with a fake one.

Gampaha High Court Judge Mrs. Nayana Seneviratne has issued this order, instructing the Financial Crimes Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department to present all documents and case exhibits related to the case to the court on that day.

In addition, the judge has also taken steps to issue summons to the 7th witness for the prosecution in this case.

This lawsuit has been filed based on a complaint made to the Criminal Investigation Department by Pallegama Hemarathana Nahimi, who was then the Chief Incumbent of Atamasthana, regarding statements made through the relevant YouTube interview. The person accused in connection with this incident is Anuja Jayasinghe, a resident of Kiribathgoda. The Colombo Magistrate's Court had been ordered in the last court session to submit the original case report of this case to the Gampaha High Court, and officials from the Criminal Investigation Department have informed the court that the report has now been received by the Mahara Magistrate's Court.

After considering the facts presented, the High Court Judge ordered that all relevant documents and case exhibits be presented to the court on the next hearing date. During this trial, State Counsel Ms. Ishara Jayaratne appeared on behalf of the Attorney General, and Attorney-at-Law Mr. Sandun Ranasinghe appeared for the defense. The prosecution in this case is led by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department.
