The Faculty Student Union officially requests the university administration to immediately identify the individuals who damaged a creation at the Vesak Lantern Exhibition organized by the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of the University of Jaffna, and to take strict disciplinary action against them.

The Student Union points out that exceptional support and dedication were received from Tamil students studying at the university for the success of this exhibition, which was held concurrently with this year's Vesak festival, and emphasizes that their union strongly condemns the act of a few individuals damaging only one Vesak lantern in this manner.

They have further stated that they completely reject the attempts by some to accuse the entire Tamil community based on this incident and to escalate this into a racial crisis. Furthermore, the Student Union has also expressed its agreement to provide maximum support to the administration in the efforts to find those directly responsible for this act of sabotage.

The Faculty Student Union points out that such actions by a small group should not be allowed to create divisions within society or to damage the coexistence, unity, and mutual respect among students. Therefore, they strongly urge all students to refrain from spreading false information regarding this incident.
