Assault on a monk in Rajanganaya

Anuradhapura Police state that two individuals who broke into the Devram Vehera temple in the Vadagama area of Shravasthipura brutally assaulted Rajanganaye Saddharatana Thero, who resides there, and stole property. The suspects arrived at the temple in a car and then entered the monks' residence to carry out the attack.

They forcibly took two mobile phones and a laptop computer that belonged to him.

Rajanganaye Saddharatana Thero, who was injured due to the assault, has been admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital and is currently receiving inpatient treatment there. Anuradhapura Police are conducting further investigations to apprehend the suspects involved in the incident.
