
Formal investigations have commenced, centered around the Rangala and Teldeniya police divisions, regarding a mysterious murder that occurred in the Teldeniya area. A twenty-two-year-old woman, who resided in the Hakmana area of Uduspaththawa, Rangala, was found by security forces after being murdered and buried in a swamp.
The unfortunate victim who lost her life in this manner is an apparel factory worker named Weerasekara Mudiyanselage Heenpitagedara Wasana Sandamali.Acting on special information received, a team of officers including Rangala Police Station OIC Chief Police Inspector Nishantha Jayaratne immediately inspected the relevant location. Subsequently, after obtaining a proper magistrate's order, the police took steps to exhume the young woman's body that was buried in the swamp. Upon learning of the incident, Teldeniya Magistrate Kamal Sanjaya Jayathilaka visited the scene where the body was found and conducted an initial on-site inspection.
Regarding this mysterious death, the Magistrate ordered that the post-mortem examination of the body be conducted by Judicial Medical Officer Upuli Bandara of Teldeniya Base Hospital for further legal action. The Rangala Police Station OIC was also ordered to promptly submit a detailed medical report on the matter to the court. A series of special investigations has already been launched to uncover the cause of this suspicious death and the true background behind it.
