09 Sri Lankans who videoed and shared the Dubai attack deported

According to Katunayake Airport sources, nine Sri Lankans who had gone to Dubai for employment are to be deported back to Sri Lanka soon. They were arrested by the police in that country and remanded in connection with a series of video clips released on the internet.

It has been alleged that this group of Sri Lankans videoed the properties damaged by missile attacks intermittently launched by Iran on Dubai. Subsequently, they proceeded to upload the relevant video clips to the internet and share them among other individuals. Based on this offense, Dubai authorities have taken steps to arrest and deport this group back to Sri Lanka.

Previously, the Dubai police arrested twenty-six Sri Lankans on a similar charge. After they were also remanded, the government of that country took steps to deport them to Sri Lanka on two separate occasions.
