The political uncertainty surrounding the formation of a new government in Tamil Nadu has now taken on a severe crisis, with actor and politician Vijay's Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party making a strong effort to gain power. Although there were initial hints that Vijay's party, which emerged as the largest single party by winning 108 seats in the recently concluded election, would receive support from the Congress and left-wing parties, the continued loyalty of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) to the DMK alliance and the VCK party's delay in declaring its stance have made it challenging to secure the majority required to form a government.

It is reported that secret discussions between the TVK and VCK parties regarding cabinet representation and offering the Deputy Chief Minister position to Mr. Thol. Thirumavalavan are still ongoing without an agreement.

Meanwhile, T.T.V. Dhinakaran, leader of the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) party, has lodged complaints with the police and the Governor against Vijay's party, alleging that support was declared through a forged letter bearing the signature of Kamaraj, the sole Member of Parliament from his party. Rejecting this accusation, Vijay's party has released a video clip showing the said MP expressing support, while Dhinakaran claims that both the video and the letter were fraudulently created. Meeting Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Mr. Dhinakaran emphasized that his party supports the AIADMK-led alliance and that Vijay's party has submitted false documents.

Heating up the Tamil Nadu political arena, it is reported that over 25 AIADMK MLAs, who were staying at a luxury resort in Puducherry, are now returning to Chennai. Meanwhile, five Congress MLAs have been sent to Bangalore due to fears of poaching by other parties. With the DMK having secured 59 seats and the AIADMK 47 seats according to election results, Vijay, who has 108 seats, urgently needs the support of a few more MLAs to demonstrate the 118-seat majority required to form a government. Although Vijay's faction has currently submitted documents with the signatures of 116 MLAs, the Governor is delaying the invitation for the swearing-in ceremony until official support is received from the two VCK party MLAs.

Amidst this crisis, a TVK party member named Esilarasi has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, requesting an order to the Governor to immediately invite Vijay, the leader of the party with the highest number of seats, to form a government. Concurrently, several artists, including South Indian actress Genelia D'Souza, have congratulated Vijay on his political victory, with critics calling this the beginning of a new chapter that breaks old traditions in Tamil Nadu politics. Today at 11 AM, T.T.V. Dhinakaran has called a special press conference, where crucial revelations regarding the current political crisis and future steps are expected.
