
Kaduwela Magistrate Aruna Indujith Buddadasa yesterday (14) ordered the remand of a person who worked as a computer software administrator at the Department of Immigration and Emigration until the 18th. This step has been taken regarding the suspect named Indika Herath, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department and produced before the court.
Facts have been reported against the suspect under several charges, including criminal breach of trust and violation of the Public Property Act. The police clarified the facts regarding these offenses committed while holding a responsible government position before the court.
The Criminal Investigation Department is currently conducting a special investigation into the preparation of fake passports for underworld members and individuals connected to various organized crime gangs. This software administrator has been accused of directly aiding and abetting such illegal activities.
