If Mahinda Rajapaksa is imprisoned even for a day, we will besiege Colombo.

Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Janaka Tissakuttiarachchi commented on the story of obtaining a statement from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

"Explain to the country what the Airbus deal is. Explain to the country how much financial provision has been defrauded from the Airbus deal. Reveal who the state officials were who dealt with the Airbus deal when it took place. Also, reveal who was in the responsible political authority, in the Cabinet, regarding that matter.

While revealing those, disclose to the country how a Rajapaksa's name or Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa is connected to this Airbus deal. Apart from taking legal action as it should be taken after such disclosure, if what you are doing is tormenting his mind, considering his current age, as our most senior leader, the leader who unified our country, then I am only giving you a warning to act with the understanding that you too will have to suffer the same torments in return. Mr. President, I will explain it simply.

When President Mahinda Rajapaksa's son ran for election, the vote percentage dropped below 2.5% due to various factors. However, if you think that because Mr. Namal Rajapaksa's percentage dropped to 2.5% at that time, Mr. Mahinda's influence in this country is also 2.5% when they try to drag him to jail, that is wrong. If the President wants, he can test it. Mahinda Rajapaksa is a leader revered by the people of this country.
