Underworld leader 'Saman Kolla''s chief financial controller arrested

A person who acted as the chief financial controller of the underworld leader known as 'Saman Kolla', suspected of fleeing to Dubai and operating large-scale international drug trafficking from there, has been arrested by the police. A team of officers from the Rotumba Police Station in Matara arrested this suspect in the Ambalangoda area the day before yesterday (4).

Although the suspect works at a regular tire fitting shop, police investigations have revealed that he owns an extremely luxurious mansion. At the time of his arrest, an illegal sum of two million nine hundred thirty-three thousand rupees (2,933,000) cleverly hidden in his house, along with thirty bank cards belonging to various bank accounts, were taken into police custody. A comprehensive investigation is currently underway to determine whether this luxurious house and the large sum of money were also acquired through drug trafficking.

This successful raid was carried out based on intelligence received by Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Wasantha Kithsiri Jayalath, who is in charge of the Southern Province. Another individual connected to 'Saman Kolla's drug network was also arrested a few days ago with 10 grams of 'Ice' drug and is currently remanded in custody. To further question the newly arrested suspect, who is considered the chief financial controller, and to uncover information about the drug network, the police obtained a detention order against him yesterday.
