Son killed father after a quarrel

A report has emerged of a person being killed with a sharp weapon in Athirahapitiya village, which falls under the Matale Police Division.

The crime occurred yesterday (24) morning, and the person killed was a 64-year-old individual residing in the same area.

Police investigations have revealed that after an argument between the deceased and his son escalated, the enraged son launched this fatal attack on his father.

The 33-year-old suspect son has currently been taken into police custody on the charge of killing his father.

The Matale Police Station is conducting further investigations regarding this homicide to take future legal action.
