
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board states that due to the rapidly declining water levels around the Labugama and Kalatuwawa water treatment plants these days, a twelve-hour water cut will have to be implemented in several areas today (08) and tomorrow (09). Due to this situation, steps have been taken to suspend water supply to the relevant areas under various timeframes.
Accordingly, water supply will be suspended from 8 AM to 8 PM today in the areas of Galagedara, Iridapola, Pinnawala, Wewelpana, Pitumpe, Meepe, Mawathagama, and Padukka. In addition, water will not be supplied during the same period to the areas of Udumulla, Arukawatta, Weragala, Bope, Malagala, Kahawala, Millawa, Kotiyangoda, Poregedara, Angampitiya, Angammana, Meeriyagalla, and Yatawathura.
Furthermore, a water cut is scheduled to be implemented in several other areas from 8 PM today until 8 AM tomorrow. During this period, water will be cut off from Pitipana Junction on Homagama High-Level Road up to Galagedara and Mawathagama, from Godagama on Padukka Road up to Liyanwala Bridge, and from Godagama on Athurugiriya Road up to Habarakada. Concurrently, water supply will also be suspended from tonight until tomorrow morning in areas around Daampe and Madulawa Horagala Road, Somaratne Mawatha, Artigala Road, Ambulgama Road, Ranala Habarakada Road, Moragahahena Road, and Puwakwatta Road.
Meanwhile, tomorrow, April 09, water will not be supplied to the areas of Mattegoda, Brahmanagama, Kirigampamunuwa, and Deepangoda during the twelve-hour period from 8 AM to 8 PM. Furthermore, the relevant announcement states that this water cut will also be implemented tomorrow during the daytime for areas along Polgasowita Road, as well as areas extending from Kudamaduwa and Pubudu Mawatha up to Wela on the 342 bus route.
