Galle Police have launched an investigation into the theft of property and money worth millions of rupees belonging to a Sri Lankan family residing in Canada, who were staying at a tourist accommodation complex in Dadalla, Galle. This group of tourists includes a Sri Lankan couple residing in Canada, their son, and his Canadian wife, who were staying in two rooms of a house located on the fourth floor of this accommodation complex.

Before this group left for a day trip, they placed the luggage containing computers and money from the son's and daughter-in-law's room into the parents' room for safekeeping. They then locked the room and handed over the keys to the security division of the complex before departing for their trip. The next day, upon returning from their trip, they observed that the windows of the parents' room were open and that the luggage inside had been rummaged through, with property stolen.

The father of the family has complained to the Galle Police that two tablet computers, 900 Canadian dollars, and several lakhs of Sri Lankan rupees have gone missing due to this theft. It is suspected that the perpetrators entered through the window via scaffolding erected behind the house up to the fourth floor. However, the total value of the stolen property has not yet been precisely calculated.
