An extremely regrettable incident is reported from the Wadduwa Medical Officer of Health (MOH) area. Due to a delay of about ten months in releasing the results of a medical examination conducted through a Suwanari clinic, a thirty-five-year-old married woman residing in the area has had to undergo a hysterectomy (surgical removal of her entire uterus).
This woman underwent the relevant clinical examination in April of last year (2025). However, the most serious aspect of this is that the medical report, which noted symptoms suspected to be a cancerous condition in the uterus, reached her only in February 2026. Due to this delay, the medical condition has worsened, and after receiving the report, she immediately sought an expert doctor, who recommended that a hysterectomy should be performed without delay in the upcoming May.
Commenting on this unfortunate situation faced by his wife, her husband stated that doctors had told them that if the relevant test report had been received on time, the disease could have been detected early and treated without reaching such a serious condition. When inquired about this, the Wadduwa Medical Officer of Health (MOH) stated that the reason for the delay in releasing the report has already been identified, and the necessary actions related to it are currently being taken.
