Essential Services Commissioner General Prabath Chandrakirthi has stated that due to the impact of the war situation in the Middle East, upcoming examinations in the country may have to be slightly postponed.
Joining a television interview, he pointed out that the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination might be delayed by a few days. However, he further mentioned that authorities are working to minimize these disruptions.
"We might have to postpone exams in some way. The G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination might have to be postponed by a few days. However, since schools will be closed for holidays on April 10th, students will only lose a few days of school time. Such factors can have an impact. At the institutional and ministerial level, we are gathering information through ministry secretaries for the committee on streamlining public service. If such a setback occurs, we might have to work an extra day in the future. We hope to take such steps and proceed," he further added.
