A series of massive flight disruptions has now been created across the Middle East region due to attacks launched by the United States and Israel on Iran on February 28, 2026, and the subsequent retaliatory actions. As of March 1, 2026, this crisis continues, and relevant authorities have taken steps to close the airspace of Iran, Israel, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.

As a result, operations at major aviation hubs such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha have been completely suspended, leaving hundreds of thousands of passengers stranded, and forcing the cancellation of over a thousand regional flights on February 28 alone.

Preliminary data reports indicate that approximately 24 percent of all flights scheduled to arrive in the Middle East on February 28 have been completely cancelled. Additionally, nearly 40 percent of flights destined for Israel and half of the flights to Qatar have also been halted. It is confirmed that over 700 flights scheduled to operate on March 1 across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and other Middle Eastern countries have also been cancelled due to this crisis. Furthermore, Indian authorities expect that approximately 444 domestic flights in their country will be cancelled due to these severe airspace restrictions.

Leading aviation authorities worldwide, including the European Union, have now issued strict instructions to all airlines to avoid flying over the conflict-affected region at any altitude. As a result, aircraft have been forced to travel via longer alternative routes, leading to continuous increases in fuel costs and flight delays.

As this situation remains highly volatile, many flight suspensions have been declared to be in effect "until further notice" or subject to review. However, many airlines are already taking steps to rebook, refund, or provide vouchers for affected passengers. Since a specific timeframe for the de-escalation of conflicts is not yet clear, passengers have been advised to directly use their airline, the relevant airport, or applications like 'Flightradar24' for real-time updates. Based on information reported by early March 1, a detailed list of affected airlines, their routes, destinations, and suspension durations has been compiled below in alphabetical order.
