Today (3), groups of people from Kolonnawa and Galle Face were brought to the premises of the Colombo Criminal Investigation Department under the organization of political supporters of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna. A survey conducted by Sirasa TV revealed that although they came, they did not know what Namal or Shiranthi were being questioned about. A large number of supporters, upon learning that Mr. Namal Rajapaksa and Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa would be arriving at the location, gathered there, chanting "Jaya Wewa" (Victory).

It was confirmed by their statements that the majority of those who had gathered did not have a clear understanding of what was happening that day or for what reason the members of the Rajapaksa family had been summoned. Among them were groups who had come by bus after being informed by the organizers, as well as those who had learned through television news that Mr. Namal Rajapaksa would be arriving to make a statement.

The gathered crowd strongly stated that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was a leader who had rendered great service to the country, and that this process targeting him and his family members was unfair. They pointed out that although they did not know why Mr. Namal Rajapaksa and Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa had been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department or the relevant institution, or what charges had been leveled against them, they viewed this as a politically motivated crime. Their primary objective was not to inquire into legal matters, but to see and support the political leaders they admired.

Among the crowd that had come from areas such as Kolonnawa and Galle Face, elderly individuals as well as persons with disabilities could be seen. Specifically, a person who had come with the aid of crutches stated that although he had no knowledge of the existing charges, he felt there was no justice in this process, and therefore, he had come despite the difficulty. Those representing the female contingent also mentioned that they had come to stand up for Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa and that justice and fairness should prevail in this entire incident.
