The deceased is a sixty-five-year-old woman who resided in the Gonawa, Weerambugedara area.During preliminary observations conducted by the police, a small rope was found around the deceased woman's neck, and a suspected purse and travel bag belonging to her were found near the body. However, as the exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed, Weerambugedara Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
Meanwhile, on the same day, a person was found burnt to death in a paddy field in the Basliyadda area, which falls under the Bemmulla Police Division. Following notification received by the Bemmulla Police Station regarding this, relevant investigations have been launched. The unfortunate deceased is an elderly seventy-six-year-old man who resided in the Bemmulla area. The magisterial inquiry and post-mortem examination regarding this body are scheduled to be held in the future.
