Transfers for 12 police officers

Police Headquarters announces that twelve senior police officers, including two Deputy Inspectors General of Police, have been transferred with immediate effect, with the approval of the National Police Commission and on the orders of Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya.

According to these new transfers, Mr. E.M.G.J. Seram, who served as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Galle Division, has been transferred as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Recruitment and Training Division. Concurrently, Deputy Inspector General of Police H.C.A. Pushpakumara, who was in charge of that division, has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Galle Division.

Under the transfers of Senior Superintendents of Police, Mr. Eric Perera, who was in the Gampola Division, has been appointed as the officer in charge of the Colombo North Division, and Mr. B.A.R. Pushpakumara, who was in the Colombo North Division, has been appointed as the Director of the Katunayake Specialized Airport Division. Furthermore, Mr. K.N. Gunawardena, who was in the Monaragala Division, has been transferred to Police Headquarters, and Mr. W.M.S.B. Wickramasinghe, who served at Police Headquarters, has been transferred as the officer in charge of the Monaragala Division. Mr. K.A. Udaya Kumara, who served as the Director of the Walana Anti-Corruption Strike Unit, has been transferred as the officer in charge of the Kalutara Division. Additionally, Superintendent of Police C.D. Ilangakoon has been appointed as the officer in charge of the Gampola Division from the Kandy Division.

These transfers also affect several Assistant Superintendents of Police. Accordingly, Mr. H.M.D. Herath from Gampola has been transferred to the Elpitiya Division, and Mr. Deepthi Kumara from the Elpitiya Division has been transferred to the Batticaloa Division. Furthermore, Police Headquarters adds that Mr. A.L.M. Jameel from the Batticaloa Division has been assigned to the Special Security Division, and Mr. M.K.S. Udaya Kumara from the Kankesanthurai Division has been assigned to the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau.
