The next-door woman and the wife jointly tied up the drunken husband, beat him with a broom, and killed him.

A thirty-two-year-old man who was assaulted by two women due to an escalating private dispute in the Horana, Poruwadanda area, passed away yesterday (23rd). The person thus murdered has been identified as Attanayake Mudiyanselage Gamini Padma Kumara, a bakery worker residing in the Poruwadanda, Sallayanwatta area.

According to police investigations, the deceased had consumed excessive alcohol in the early hours of the day of the incident and gone to a neighbor's house. There, he behaved aggressively, hitting the doors and windows of the house and harassing the residents. Subsequently, the woman in that house informed his wife about this.

Subsequently, the wife who arrived at the scene told her husband to go home, but he did not comply and continued to behave aggressively, using abusive language. Enraged by this, the wife and the neighbor woman together tied the man to a pillar in the house with a piece of cloth and then took a broom nearby and severely beat him, preliminary investigations have revealed. Due to this severe assault, the person died on the spot.

After receiving information regarding this murder, Horana Headquarters Police went to the crime scene and commenced investigations. Accordingly, the deceased's 32-year-old wife and the other suspect woman involved in this fatal assault have been arrested by the police, and Horana Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
