The two Indian Coast Guard ships, 'Varaha' (ICGS Varaha) and 'Atulya' (ICGS Atulya), arrived at the Port of Colombo for an official visit, where they were warmly welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions.
The 96.2-meter long 'Varaha' is a powerful vessel used for monitoring the country's maritime boundaries, with Commandant Ashwini Kumar serving as its Commanding Officer. The 'Atulya' ship, a 50-meter long fast patrol vessel, has arrived in the country under the command of Commandant Anit Kumar Mishra.
During this official visit, the crew of the Indian Coast Guard ships are scheduled to participate in a series of joint exercises with the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, which is expected to further strengthen maritime security cooperation between the two countries.
