A bull tied to a cart in the premises of a festival hall in Kesbewa, Batuwandara, suddenly became agitated and ran onto the main road yesterday (25) afternoon, causing a chaotic situation there.

As people in the area ran helter-skelter, vehicle owners who witnessed the incident took steps to stop their vehicles.

People standing in front of shops also saw the incident, forgot where they were, overturned their chairs, and ran into the shops.

Reports indicate that an elderly person who was riding in the cart at that moment fell in the premises where the festival hall is located.

Two parked trishaws were also damaged by the collision with the cart. Eyewitnesses say that the agitated bull, which was brought on the day before yesterday (24) and tied to the cart yesterday, the 25th, for some reason suddenly became agitated, entered the Kesbewa - Bandaragama main road, jumped to the opposite direction of the road, and ran for about 300 meters towards Kesbewa.

It is further learned that as the bull ran rapidly with the cart, one of the cart's wheels got entangled in a vehicle, causing the bull to separate from the cart.

Eyewitnesses further state that a major accident that was about to happen was narrowly avoided because the road was not crowded at that time.
