A complaint has been lodged with the Galle Police against a radiologist regarding an alleged incident where a Swedish national woman, who had come to a private hospital in the Galle area for treatment, had her private body parts scanned without her knowledge.
The 32-year-old foreign woman who faced this incident had gone to the private hospital due to pain around her ribs, and the doctor who examined her recommended several medical tests, including a blood test and an ultrasound scan.
According to the complaint filed by the woman, when she was referred for the scan based on the doctor's recommendation, the retired government radiologist who performed the test allegedly touched her private areas without her consent and subjected those areas to a scan, and no report related to it was provided to her.
According to the complaint made by the woman, further investigations have now been launched under the leadership of Galle Port Police OIC Ranjan Kodithuwakku and Police Inspector Prashan Silva.
