Singer Latha Walpola Hospitalized, Death Rumors Debunked

The Sri Lanka Singers' Association emphasizes that there is no truth to the rumors circulating on social media these days about the demise of veteran singer Ms. Latha Walpola. The association states that these rapidly spreading online reports are merely baseless rumors.

Musician Ajantha Peiris, a member of the Sri Lanka Singers' Association, commented and confirmed that Ms. Latha Walpola is still alive. He responsibly stated that there has been no sudden demise as reported on social media.

However, Mr. Ajantha Peiris further revealed that she is currently severely ill and has been hospitalized for treatment. He reiterated that despite her illness, she has not passed away and is still alive. Rumors circulating regarding the health of veteran singer Ms. Latha Walpola have also been refuted by Sri Lankan artist Dayan Witharana.

In a social media post, Mr. Dayan Witharana confirmed that Ms. Latha Walpola is alive.

He further mentioned that while it is true she was hospitalized, her condition has improved.

“May she receive the blessings of the Triple Gem. I confirm that the circulating rumors are false,” Mr. Dayan Witharana added to his post.
