Seven Dancers and Beauticians Arrested After Kollupitiya Pub Brawl

Seven individuals, including a dancer and a beautician, were arrested by Kollupitiya Police last night (18) in connection with an incident where a person was assaulted at a nightclub in Kollupitiya.

The assaulted individual, a resident of Aluthkade, Colombo, is currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital Colombo's Accident and Emergency Unit.

According to police reports, among the seven arrested are a gold jewelry manufacturer, a textile businessman, and an officer working at a private institution. A senior police officer told Lankadeepa that information indicates the assault occurred due to an argument over a certain matter escalating.

The officer further stated that these suspects were arrested based on information revealed during investigations into the incident. Police state that the two arrested women are residents of Balangoda and Medirigiriya respectively, while the others are residents of Colombo. Kollupitiya Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
