Sajith Premadasa Meets Ambassadors to Seek International Aid

 Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has made a special intervention to secure the support of the international community to rescue the country from the disaster situation caused by the adverse weather conditions prevailing across the island. Accordingly, the Opposition Leader personally met with ambassadors representing Japan, Korea, and the European Union, requesting their necessary assistance for disaster relief.



A special discussion was held today between His Excellency Akio Isomata, the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, and the Opposition Leader at the Opposition Leader's office in Parliament. During this meeting, Mr. Sajith Premadasa requested the Japanese Ambassador to provide the unique technical expertise, labor, and contribution of the Japanese government to modernize the country's road network, which has been damaged by floods and landslides, and to promptly repair the railway system.




Furthermore, the Opposition Leader also met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka, engaging in extensive discussions about the current disaster situation. He requested the Korean Ambassador to ensure the maximum possible aid and assistance from the Korean government to help the country recover and rebuild from this disaster.

Meanwhile, during his meeting with Her Excellency Carmen Moreno, the European Union Ambassador to Sri Lanka, the Opposition Leader drew significant attention to issues in the health sector. Mr. Sajith Premadasa requested the European Union's maximum contribution to restore damaged health services due to the disaster and to prepare for potential epidemic situations that may arise after the floods recede.
