At a critical moment when the entire nation is working together in the face of a disaster, Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wuttler emphasizes that strict legal action will be taken, regardless of status, against individuals who create and disseminate misleading false information and news to the public.
The Police Media Spokesperson stated at a press conference held today (01) at the Tri-Forces Security Headquarters that numerous complaints have already been received by the Criminal Investigation Department regarding the dissemination of news that creates unnecessary fear and unrest among the public, and based on these complaints, a special investigation has been launched through the Computer Investigations Division.
He also pointed out that while the government is diligently working to restore normalcy to people's lives in the post-disaster period, a trend has been observed where certain individuals use social media to disseminate unverified information without any basis.
He respectfully requested the public, on behalf of the Police Department, to refrain from unethical activities, emphasizing that spreading false information is a punishable offense and that the entire country must remain united during such a catastrophic situation.
