Driver and Conductor Fired for Endangering Passenger Lives Amidst Kumbukkana Floods

 The National Transport Commission has taken strict disciplinary action against a private bus that traveled from Monaragala to Colombo, endangering passenger lives amidst severe flood conditions in the Kumbukkana area.

Regarding this controversial incident, the owner of the bus, as well as the driver, conductor, and other staff members, were summoned before the National Transport Commission last Wednesday to provide explanations.

Based on the facts revealed during the investigations and their irresponsible behavior, the Commission decided to temporarily suspend the route permit of the bus for a period of two weeks.

Furthermore, the National Transport Commission has issued orders to punish the driver and conductor of the bus for acting with disregard for passenger safety, suspending their service for a period of one month.
