Computer Engineer Arrested for Fatal Stabbing of Young Man with Coconut Knife

 A 54-year-old computer engineer has been arrested by Panadura South Headquarters Police in connection with the fatal stabbing of a young man with a coconut-cutting knife, following a financial dispute that escalated. Police state that the suspect, a resident of Walana, Panadura, operates a private computer university in the same area.



The young man who was killed has been identified as 29-year-old Welangoda Hewage Sachith Thamal, a resident of Kamburugamuwa, Matara. The deceased young man was an employee under the suspect engineer, and


initial investigations have revealed that a financial issue between the two led to this crime.

The altercation took place in front of the suspect's house, where he stabbed the young man five times in the chest and abdomen with a knife used for cutting coconuts, inflicting serious injuries and causing his death. The knife used for the crime has been taken into police custody, and the arrested suspect was scheduled to be produced before the Panadura Magistrate's Court.
