All 5 Naval Officers Missing During Chundikulam Lagoon Estuary Widening Confirmed Dead

 The police have confirmed that all five naval personnel who went missing while engaged in a special duty to widen the lagoon estuary in the Chundikulam area have died. This tragic incident was reported this afternoon (30) in the Chundikulam, Chalei area.

While the operation to widen the lagoon estuary was underway, the five naval officers suddenly went missing, and

as soon as information about this was reported, the Navy launched an extensive search operation.

During the operations, it was initially reported that the bodies of four naval personnel had been found, and subsequent reports released by the Sri Lanka Police indicate that all five missing personnel have died.
