Two Floating Stupas Near Kalladi Bridge Cause Major Disturbance

Two floating stupas were seen on the lake near the Dakalapuwa Kalladi Bridge, causing a significant uproar in the area. These floating objects, decorated with images of Mullivaikkal stupas, illuminated electric bulbs reading "Tamil Genocide Week," and black, red, and yellow flags, were revealed to be creations made by Mullivaikkal enthusiasts for commemorative purposes, deliberately designed to avoid being caught by anyone.

Last night (17th), around nine o'clock, when these floating stupas were lit and drifting, a highly agitated situation arose in the locality.

Residents reported that the two stupas, made to remember the Tamil genocide, floated towards the sea.

The mysterious objects, resembling two small boats, were seen floating on the lake for about an hour, creating panic. Intelligence officials who arrived at the scene have taken measures to neutralize them.

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The images of the Mullivaikkal commemoration seen on the two stupas, along with the black, red, and yellow flags, are considered symbolic items used to remember the Tamil people who died during the final military operations in the Mullivaikkal area in 2009.
