Mahinda and Southlands children in Galle positive for Covid19
Two children studying at Mahinda College, Galle and Southlands College, Galle and their parents have been diagnosed with the covid-19 virus. The two children belong to the same family, and their father was diagnosed with the virus at a private hospital in Galle yesterday (03) morning after undergoing a rapid antigen test. The health department has taken steps to take their two children from Mahinda College, Galle and Southlands College, Galle, for immediate antibody testing. They have also been identified as infected. As a result, 22 Grade 8 students and five teachers of Southlands College, Galle, have been placed under quarantine, and the school has been disinfected, said Principal Sandhya Pathiranawasam. Steps were also taken to quarantine 13 Grade 5 students and four teachers of Mahinda College who were identified as associates of the infected student. It is reported that two sections of the Bope Poddala Divisional Secretariat where the mother of the children worked have been temporarily closed.
