Karu Jayasuriya's dead daughter Indira's story for a movie

The story of Indira, the youngest daughter of former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, who died a few years ago while suffering from cancer, has been made into a film. At the time of her death, she was in the news, even in the major foreign media. The reason was that her death was a story mixed with sacrifice. Indira's story was unique in that she was diagnosed with cancer when she was pregnant and was motivated to protect her child from taking the drugs prescribed to her because it was known to be harmful to the fetus and to sacrifice her life, knowing that her life was on the verge of death.

The baby was born healthy, as she had hoped, and she died. This story is a shocking phenomenon related to the generosity of motherhood. The story is adapted into a film by Sajeeva Pushpakumara and stars Indira as Udari Chamika Warnakulasuriya. Commenting to a newspaper, Udari said of the film: 'This is an exceptional character. The director and the makeup artist met Indira's older sister, Mrs Lanka, about Mrs Indira's incredible dedication. Fantastic-hearted manner in which she faced death is astonishing. All of these factors helped to adapt to the character. Also, the makeup artist Narada Thotagamuwa's ability to create her last days' look is fantastic. It also helped me to recreate Indira's character. Director Sanjeewa's academic knowledge is special. His directing me a different experience. '
