Royal Principal resigns
It is reported that the Principal of Royal College,

Colombo has resigned from his post as a result of a rift with the alumni of his college. He was the Principal of Royal College. Mr Abeyratne has been the Principal of several leading schools for some time and is an experienced principal. Informed sources have reported that the Principal had to resign as a result of problems with the old students on several occasions in the past. The letter of resignation was handed over to the Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Prof. Kapila Perera last week. It is reported that the Ministry of Education has appointed the temporary Deputy Principal to replace him and Mr Abeyratne is to be given a post in the State Ministry of Education.
