Ratnapura gem dealer transfers corona to wife and children ... and even goes to funeral houses!

It was confirmed that Ratnapura gem merchant and 12 year old daughter were admitted to IDH after being infected by covid-19 and after such information, health authorities have taken action to send both of them to DHI last afternoon (19), Dr. Kapila Kannangara, director of health services,

Sabaragamuwa province said.

The health director who spoke further about this matter said, "It was possible to confirm that this person's wife and daughter have been infected after relevant tests were conducted on them. Thus, action was taken to send both of them to IDH. It has been confirmed that this person while engaging in gem business has gone to attend funerals at Ambagaha and several other locations. Under these conditions, relevant parties who closely associated him were advised to carry out quarantine procedures in their own homes and to report to hospital if they were to feel any complications. It is believed that the disease has been transferred to several others. 

The doctor also said that all health services are constantly on the alert about the feedback and by now 11 patients are under treatment at Ratnapura base hospital.
