Throws hot water on nine year old; beats and then removes two of her teeth with pincer!
A nine year old girl was brutally maltreated by the girl's father and stepmother day before yesterday (1) and both of them were taken into custody in Kodagoda, Imaduwa area, Imaduwa police say.
The small girl's father is employed as a driver and when he goes to work, it was revealed at police investigations that the girl is left tied inside the house. It was further revealed from inquiries that hot
water was poured on the girl's body and she was beaten up by a cane by the stepmother. The girl concerned has been brutally molested by her father and stepmother and she is presently under treatment at Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

The father and mother have been taken into custody while in a rented out house. The grandmother who was aware that the girl is subjected to harassment has come to take her away. Later, the girl had been left by her father at 22nd milepost, Kodagoda when she was taken by police and admitted to hospital.
The girl's mother has run away with another man about five years ago and later she has had a child from that man. Subsequently, the woman concerned has left not only that man but gone away with yet another man, and the two children too, it was revealed at police investigations. Later, the girl's father, the suspect was summoned to Urubokka police and handed her over to him. The suspect father incidentally happens to be a resident of Imaduwa area. But by that time he had been married to another woman and she had begotten a child from him. The girl had been with the father and it was there that the girl was subjected to gruesome maltreatment. The suspect-father is 29 years old and the stepmother is a resident of Suriyawewa. Both the suspect-father and stepmother was expected to be produced before court.
