Story of squandering Rs. 465 lakhs by erecting new expressway access to Medamulana .. true?

While opening of the Hambantota - Mattala part of Southern Expressway is in progress a certain information conveyed across the social media has said that an access point leading easy access to Medamulana where Rajapaksa ancestral home is situated has been introduced from Bendigama Junction as a part of the expressway and that work had commenced in a hurry after the new government came into power and that it would be declared open
in a few more days ahead ... thus squandering a sum of Rs. 465 lakhs.

There are 4 interchanges in the section Beliatta to Barawakakumbura. Beliatta, Kasagala, Angunukolapelessa, Barawakakumbura. The distance from Beliatta to Kasagala is 12 kms. It was easy to gain entrance to Rajapaksa mothertown in Medamulana when moving out of this Beliattha interchange. In that instance only a distance of 16 kms had to be covered to reach Medamulana. However, having considered that 16 kms a botheration ... with the advent of the new regime a new interchange was built in a hurry. It is reported that this route is being erected at Bendigama Junction at Kasagala from Beliattha. Whatever it is, there is 1 km from there to Medamulana.

Ideas and opinions are being exchanged across the social media that it is a national crime to erect a new expressway interchange just to reduce about 6 kms by spending Rs. 465 lakhs. In any case minister of roadways,Mr. Johnston Fernando came forward to reply to this at the opening ceremony held recently.  This is what he said: "There were 9 interchanges in the plan during president Mahinda Rajapaksa's time. The last government dropped the 9th one at Bedigama. Now from day before yesterday it is being highlighted in facebook that an interchange is introduced to go to Rajapaksas and that crores of sums of money is expended. With this interchange introduced from Bedigama ... it has been made possible to travel 6 kms to reach three hundred, four hundred hotels. The last regime stopped this in order to take revenge from Rajapaksa family".
