A media briefing was held yesterday about the incident of a video where a state lady officer spoke fearlessly against a state minister who stood on behalf of a crowd of thugs and he has gone on to say that he is not in favour of even creating any harm to plants at Kadolana environmental land;  leave alone even a leaf of a plant and that he has no grief about the false piece of news which is being broadcast these days across social media these
days. 

What fisheries and inland fisheries state minister Nishantha Perera has further said was that as Eththemeegamuwa is a location where fishing folk inhabited from history and that when he tried to settle this problem without going into any conflict ... Gampaha district forest lady officer kept continuously engaging in a dispute. He further stated that the rift was with the said lady officer and inhabitants of Negombo and that what he wanted was to mediate and bring a solution to that problem. The minister then said that if he was not present that moment, that lady officer ran the risk of being assaulted by the fishing folk and that it was he who settled the situation by managing all that. 

He mentioned the above by participating at a media briefing held at fisheries and inland fisheries ministry yesterday (12). Fisheries and inland fisheries development minister who expressed further ideas. "It is former fisheries minister, Wijayamuni Soysa who has given the ground to these children to play. He had given a promise to them to provide the opportunity for them to play here. It is to children's playground that sand is brought and dumped. They have levelled that sand. What this lady officer says is to remove that playground from there. If not .. she says that the Kadolana surroundings close to that place would be harmed. 

We shall not allow Kadolana environment in the vicinity be harmed. She talks like this today because of the faith pinned on present president ... that something would be done to the country. We will not breach that faith".
