240 land deeds recovered from a house in Colombo is of Rishad's wife's!
When the case regarding the incident where the criminal investigation department was able to find deeds of properties in Colombo which created a sensation, the CID stated that those belonged to former minister Mr. Rishad Badiudeen's wife, it was revealed yesterday at Mt. Lavinia magistrate court. As such, the CID was given permission by court to secure a statement from former minister Rishad Badiudeen's wife.
Last 10th a house down Issipathana Mawatha, Colombo 5 came under inspection of the CID and in
that instance 240 cash documents and copies of deeds were taken into custody. Among those were documents relating to transactions that took place within the SATHOSA establishment and property deeds of hundreds of acres under names of various persons, it was reported. The owner of the said house Imran Mohommed told CID that day that those documents were given to him by an employer of Mega Construction belonging to the brother of former minister Mr. Rishad Badiudeen.

However, the house owner was taken into custody for having kept documents relating to SATHOSA in his possession and after being produced before Mt. Lavinia court was remanded on suspicion. That case was called before Mt. Lavinia chief magistrate, Mr. Mohommed Mihal yesterday. On that occasion, officers of the CID said that the owner of the house made a false statement regarding a promissory note found among the documents in the house. Though that person said that the value of that particular promissory note was Rs. nine lakhs and thirty five thousand ... its genuine value is Rs. nine crores and eighty nine lakhs and thirty five thousand, the CID revealed in court.
It was further revealed that deeds of properties taken into custody belongs to former minister Rishad Badiudeen's wife, K.M.M.I. Amisha and permission was given by magistrate on the request of CID to get a statement from her and thus a statement is expected to be secured from her at a future date. Magistrate then ordered that suspect owner of the house be remanded once again and to call this case once again next 28th.
