It was reported that she has made a request of 26 crores to play a role in a film. Some popular Bollywood persons had identified her action as a brave one even before Chapak film was screened while that story was criticised in social media as a publicity stunt. Subsequently, there were criticisms about Deepika who distorted her face with a blow of acid. A tendency to strike against 'Chapak' and Deepika herself became serious in the social media. Now the difference of opinion was not limited to the film 'Chapak'. It has gone to the extent of becoming a trend of sabotaging all trade names promoted by Deepika. According to a report published in The Economic Times, trade names connected to Deepika have for a period of time begun to refrain from displaying her commercials too.
