Commotion in Kelaniya last night with operations being launched to catch Angoda Lokka's accomplice 'Getta' 

On a tip off received by acting officer in charge of crime unit, Kelaniya division, Mr. Kelum Sangeeth, master-mind or in other words who is supposed to be the right hand of Angoda Lokka and is involved in the narcotics racket and is presently taking refuge in India by giving leadership to organised criminal gangs in Sri Lanka has been apprehended by police.The said operations has been launched by police and members of special
task force. 

On a tip off received that the person called Shiran alias 'Getta' is supposed to make deals under Peliyagoda Jeyaraj Fernandopulle flyover, a team of policemen under disguise had been in ambush at that location after which the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect who made an attempt to flee from the custody of police was brought under control and on that occasion 1 gramme of Ice was found inside his left-side pocket while 4 grammes and 40 milligrammes of heroin was found in his right-side pocket, all of which were taken into police custody. 

This suspect who was so taken into custody was someone who is responsible for three homicides and court cases in that connection is already proceeding and is presently on bail, the police said. Court proceedings are already underway in relation to the following: A person called Soy being cut and chopped and killed in Salamulla area, Kolonnawa, Wellampitiya on 20. 02. 2009; a person called Surendra being cut and chopped at Rad Barnawaththa, Modera on 29.07.2016; being apprehended by police for having shot and murdered a person in Kadawatha police division on 11.05.2018 and for being in possession of 2 hand-bombs are the cases which police have been able to uncover.
