Aged father abandoned near Matara bodhiya!

A father of five children aged 76 years has been left isolated near Matara historic bodhi rajaya at about 10 in the morning yesterday (29). This senile father of five said that their youngest son living in Angulugaha area, Galle has brought him to that place and had left him there. Subsequently, this person who was seriously in a state of trembling had collapsed at that spot and the people who
rocked round him had provided him with food and tea. 

Those who gathered there have later called the 1990 ambulance service; but as the ambulance did not turn up there, he was dispatched to Matara general hospital in a police jeep of Matara police station. On the occasion when nobody had come forward to take this person who was shivering in the midst of Matara town ... to Matara hospital, a group of young men who had gathered there had proceeded to take him on their shoulders when a police jeep had stopped and had taken him away. 

According to what this person says, he has five children and it is the youngest son who has left him abandoned this way. The cloth bag which was in possession of this person there had been medical reports to say that he had presented himself to medical examination and it was mentioned there that his name is P.H. Appuhamy aged 76 years from Bogahagoda, Aguha. Matara police are conducting further inquiries.
