Law College dreams of Ranjan dissolves ... because he fails in one subject
Member of parliament Ranjan Ramanayaka appeared for the 2019 advanced level examination once again with the objective of entering the Sri Lanka Law College course. It was known across videos too that he has got down tuition masters to his home to prepare himself for his advanced level.
He in fact sat for the advanced level in the subjects of political science, mass media and Christianity.
Of those subjects he has failed in Christianity securing simple passes in the other two subjects according to yesterday's results. Prior to this Ranjan Ramanayaka has sat for his advanced level at the age of 19 years and obtained an 'S' and on this occasion ... only two 'S's.

He in fact did not anticipate these results. What he hoped for was to pass in all three subjects at once. It was with this motive that he appeared for Sinhala and English Language last year, to achieve that target. The basic qualification required to gain admission to the Sri Lanka Law College is to pass in all three advanced level subjects which is considered as a basic requirement while passing ordinary level English and Sinhala with credit passes is required. However, both these opportunities have eclipsed him this time.
Whatever it is, degree courses in law are being conducted in several private universities where they are affiliated to foreign universities .. under which circumstances these qualifications may sometimes be adequate for him to gain entrance to those. On a query posed to Ranjan Ramanayaka last night by media in this connection, what he has said was that he now has the possibility of studying law.
