World record created yesterday by Hanguranketha giant who kept a 370 kilo granite on his body!
Janaka Kanchana Mudannayaka attached to Ports Authority yesterday (10) engaged in a feat of creating a Guinness record by having dropped 50 cubes of ice weighing 50 kilos from a height of twenty feet on a stone with a weight of 370 kilogrammes.
A Japanese national had created a Guinness record previously by having dropped fifty cubes of ice on
his abdomen from a height of 15 feet while before this Janaka had created 6 Guinness records. That feat was placed under observation of attorney at law Dilshan Pathirathna and secretary of Ports sports club A. Weerasingha. Since getting down the committee inspecting Guinness records to this country costs an exorbitant sum of money, the video is expected to be delivered to the relevant party.
"I was engaged for a period of one and a half years to create this Guinness record. I did exercises to attend to prepare my abdomen and had to get rid of the fat in my abdomen ... because these large blocks of ice is dropped on the stone resting on my abdomen. Japanese national Oyama who was responsible for the previous record is in fact a karate champion. He has the ability of breaking the horn of a buffalo by a blow with his hand. It was easy to do this when achieving the Guinness record because of the rapport between self and colleagues who dropped the ice blocks. They carried out their task having understood well my movements", Janaka Kanchana said.
Guinness records achieved previously by Janaka Kanchana are as follows:- running thirty two vehicles weighing one and a half tons over his hand, bending eighteen iron cable or wire twelve millimetres thick within one minute with his hands, carrying seventeen sacks of wheat weighing fifty kilos within a period of twenty eight minutes for a distance of thirty metres, bending twenty two iron wires twelve millimetres thick within a period of forty eight seconds and braking fifty concrete planks weighing hundred and three kilogrammes on the abdomen within a period of five minutes and forty three and forty three seconds are those Guinness records. Janaka Kanchana Mudannayaka is an Old Boy of Pallebowala Maha Vidyalaya of Hanguranketha educational zone and Poramadulla national school.
